• Learn from others
• Tell a story
• Frame rates
• Adding sound
• Editing your movie
• Try out what you’ve learnt and share it!
Learn from others
If you haven’t taken videos before it can be a little daunting to get started. But don’t let that put you off; recording digitally means that you can review your videos immediately and learn as you shoot. You can also look at how professional videos are created; some of the most effective videos produced are between the programmes on TV – the adverts. An advert has to pack a complete message into a 20, 30 or 60 second slot. Does it do this with a lot of camera movement? How long is the average shot? How important is the sound? You can learn a lot from these mini-stories.
